Our mission
Give small and mid-sized businesses the operational software that large enterprises take for granted — at a price and a pace that actually fits how they work.
BDx is a small automation product studio in Chennai. We started because too many good businesses were running on spreadsheets, WhatsApp threads and one heroic person who knows where everything is.
In 2021 we took on a small job: digitise appointment booking for a salon in Chennai that was losing revenue to double-bookings and no-shows. The brief was one screen. What we found underneath was a whole business running on memory — stock counts in a notebook, commissions on a calculator, Sunday nights spent reconciling cash.
That job became Salon App. The pattern behind it became BDx: find the manual work that costs the most, automate it properly, and stay accountable for it once it's live. We now do the same across retail, clinics, logistics and professional services — sometimes with a product off our shelf, sometimes with a custom build, never with a slide deck about digital transformation.
Two engineers, one client, and a booking system that replaced a paper diary in a Chennai salon.
The one-off build became a product. Rosters, billing and inventory joined bookings; the first ten salons came aboard.
Custom automation for logistics and clinic clients. BDx Flow spun out of workflow code we kept rewriting.
SLA-backed support, 24×7 monitoring and an on-call rota — because shipping is the easy half.
Forty-plus automations in production and a team that still answers the phone when something breaks.
Give small and mid-sized businesses the operational software that large enterprises take for granted — at a price and a pace that actually fits how they work.
A market where "we still do that manually" is a choice rather than a constraint — and where the software behind a growing business is boring, reliable infrastructure.
Working software beats a status report. Every two weeks something real goes in front of real users.
Go-live is the halfway point. If it breaks at 11 p.m. on a Saturday, it's still ours to fix.
No jargon in proposals, no theatre in status calls. If we're behind, you hear it from us first.
The receptionist and the technician get a say before the spec is signed. They're the ones who live in it.
Least-privilege access, encrypted backups and dependency reviews from sprint one, not before an audit.
Hours removed, errors avoided, revenue recovered. If a feature can't move one of those, we question it.
You get the people who built it, not a rotating cast of account managers.
Sets the architecture, still reviews the pull requests that matter.
Turns messy operations into a spec the team can actually build.
Owns delivery, on-call rota and the uptime number on our homepage.
Handles onboarding, training and the questions that arrive at 9 a.m. Monday.
Want the fifth chair? We're hiring.
Thirty minutes, no deck. We'll tell you what we'd automate first, what we'd leave alone, and roughly what it costs.
